The iconic Green Beach Resort is located in Lebanon's Jounieh Gulf, and has witnessed Lebanon's golden era, in the sixties and early seventies. Unfortunately, the once vibrant exclave has seen a decline in use, due to social, and economic downtown. The concrete pedestal was slowly crumbling to the sea.
As part of a private initiative to revitalize the Jounieh sea-front, The Green Beach resort will soon have a second life.
The resort's greenery provides an instant escape from the bustling city around it. The Gulf of Jounieh is surrounded by lush, steep mountains, whose greenery is abruptly obstructed by the emerging city below. Through their intervention, ALTERA have chosen to create a visual corridor between the project, and the surrounding mountains, while obstructing the city in between. The project's built landscape is carefully crafted out of wood and fabric, to provide a light, none-invasive experience, hidden within the greenery. The Project is also in sync with the sea, providing an artificial gulf within itself, where the sea can penetrate, meeting the newly-added pool.

The Green beach resort also acts as a local grassroots platform, inviting artisans from Jounieh to expose their hand-crafted products within the premises, in small huts of wood and fabric.
