Enter a tipsy escape, through Tipsy Bulbs.
Located on a hill near Lebanon's historic town of Batroun, Tipsy bulbs is a series of organic bungalows which overlook Batroun's open sea.
The project incorporates six unique bungalows, a bar, a tattoo parlor, and the client's main residence. Entering from a non decrypt street, the bulbs are revealed through a curtain of greenery, isolating the premises from its surroundings.
The site is divided into three main levels: The individual bungalows sit at the bottom level, each with its own secluded garden and pool. The bungalows are overlooked by a shared space on the second level, which houses a beach-style pool, a small tattoo parlor, as well as the project's center piece, the tipsy bulb bar; a curvy and elegant architectural statement.
The highest level is reserved for the client's main residence, which overlooks the entire site.
The journey up the site is littered with twists and turns, revealing hidden enclaves and green surprises.
Each bungalow is molded out of the ground, creating six unique typologies. The interior feel is a-kin to a cave, with furniture carved out of the walls of the structure itself. The design takes a mono-material approach, which is often interrupted by punctual bursts of color.
The finished product is a landscape of organic, earthy concrete, dotted with rounded openings for windows and chimneys.
