A place of worship rebuilt through memory, resilience, and a new architectural language.
This mosque reconstruction was conceived as a dialogue between what was lost and what could be rebuilt. Following the destruction of the original structure during the war, the design preserves a tangible connection to its past by reusing the existing stones as the foundation and lower expression of the new building.
Above this historic base, clean concrete volumes introduce a contemporary architectural language, creating a deliberate contrast between the weight and texture of the original stone and the simplicity of the new intervention. The mosque becomes more than a reconstruction: it is an architecture of continuity, where fragments of the past are carried forward into a renewed place of gathering, reflection, and worship.
